My Portfolio
Expatriates experience layers of loss as they move into and out of contracts across borders. My work towards my first solo exhibition held May 2024 uses bricolage and prints to metaphorically express the losses experienced when relocating, the absence of significant people from expatriates’ lives and the steps taken to restore hope. I used plant matter, discarded items and Western African fabric, as I sought to connect my work to the geophysical location of the international school where I was teaching during this period, Lomé, Togo.
